Hey Friends,

Fall is one of my favorite times of year.

The temperatures start to cool down, the leaves change, cozy sweaters come out, and there’s something about the season that makes me want to slow down and enjoy home a little more.

But let’s be honest—fall can also be busy for moms.

Between school schedules, homework, activities, work, meal planning, and everything else on our to-do lists, finding time to take care of ourselves can easily get pushed to the bottom.

That’s why I’m all about creating simple wellness moments that fit into my everyday routine.

One of the things I enjoy incorporating into my home routine is doTERRA essential oils. From diffusing seasonal scents to creating a relaxing atmosphere, they can be a simple way to make home feel a little more cozy.

Here are 10 easy ideas to try this fall.

🍁 1. Create a Cozy Fall Diffuser Blend

Fall is the perfect season for warm, comforting aromas.

Try combining oils such as:

  • Wild Orange
  • Cinnamon
  • Clove
  • Ginger
  • Cardamom

A warm, spicy citrus blend can make your home smell inviting while you’re cooking dinner, relaxing, or getting ready for the evening.

Tip: Always follow the dilution and diffuser instructions for your specific oils and diffuser.

☕ 2. Make Your Morning Routine Feel Special

Mornings can be chaotic, especially when you’re trying to get everyone out the door.

Instead of immediately jumping into your to-do list, create a small morning ritual.

Start your diffuser, make your favorite coffee or tea, open the curtains, and give yourself a few quiet minutes before the day gets going.

It doesn’t have to take 30 minutes.

Even five intentional minutes can make your morning feel different.

🕯️ 3. Turn Your Home Into a Cozy Retreat

You don’t need to redecorate your entire house for fall.

A few simple touches can completely change the atmosphere.

Try:

🍂 A cozy throw blanket
🕯️ Fall-inspired candles
🌿 Your favorite diffuser blend
☕ A warm cup of tea
📚 A good book

The goal isn’t perfection.

It’s creating a space where you actually want to relax.

🍎 4. Make Homework Time More Enjoyable

Homework doesn’t always have to feel like a battle.

Create a consistent homework space, turn on some soft lighting, and use a diffuser according to its instructions if your family enjoys aromatherapy.

Then make the routine predictable:

Snack → Homework → Break → Finish → Free Time

A simple routine can help make afternoons feel less overwhelming.

🌿 5. Create an Evening Wind-Down Routine

Once the kids are in bed, resist the temptation to immediately start another round of chores.

Instead, create a small evening ritual.

Put away your phone.

Dim the lights.

Start your diffuser.

Grab a book.

Take a few deep breaths.

Then remind yourself:

The laundry can wait.

You deserve a few minutes to simply relax.

🛁 6. Make Self-Care Simple

Self-care doesn’t have to mean spending a lot of money.

Try creating an at-home self-care evening with:

  • A warm shower or bath
  • Comfortable pajamas
  • Your favorite lotion
  • A cup of tea
  • A book or favorite show
  • A relaxing home atmosphere

Add your favorite doTERRA aroma to the room through appropriate diffusion, and you’ve created a simple little reset without leaving the house.

🍊 7. Freshen Up Your Kitchen

Fall means more cooking in my house.

Soups, casseroles, baked dishes, and comfort foods are back on the menu!

After cooking, I love making the kitchen feel fresh and inviting.

A citrus-inspired diffuser blend can be a nice way to add a bright seasonal aroma to the space.

Just remember that essential oils should not be used as a substitute for proper cleaning.

📅 8. Add Wellness to Your Weekly Reset

Sunday is a great day to prepare for the week ahead.

Take 30 minutes to:

✔️ Plan meals
✔️ Check the family calendar
✔️ Prepare school items
✔️ Pick out outfits
✔️ Clean up the kitchen
✔️ Set up your diffuser for the evening

This little reset can make Monday morning feel much less hectic.

👩🏾 9. Don’t Forget Mom

This might be the most important one.

We’re often so focused on taking care of everyone else that we forget ourselves.

Schedule something small just for you.

Maybe it’s reading for 20 minutes.

Maybe it’s sitting on the porch with your coffee.

Maybe it’s taking a long shower without someone knocking on the door. 😂

Maybe it’s simply sitting quietly with your favorite fall scent filling the room.

You don’t need permission to rest.

🍂 10. Create Your Own Fall Wellness Ritual

The best wellness routine is one that you’ll actually use.

Choose a few things that make you feel good and turn them into a routine.

For example:

Morning:
☀️ Coffee + diffuser + quiet time

Afternoon:
🍎 Snack + family reset + fresh seasonal aroma

Evening:
🕯️ Cozy clothes + book + relaxing diffuser blend

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

It just needs to work for you.

🍁 Fall Is Your Reminder to Slow Down

Fall reminds us that change can be beautiful.

The leaves change.

The weather changes.

Our schedules change.

And sometimes, we need to give ourselves permission to change our routines too.

You don’t have to completely overhaul your life to feel more balanced.

Start small.

Create a cozy corner.

Take five quiet minutes.

Start a diffuser.

Read a few pages.

Drink your coffee while it’s still hot. 😂

And remember that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s part of taking care of the people you love.

So here’s to cozy homes, slower evenings, simple wellness routines, and making a little more room for ourselves this fall. 🍂💛
