Hey Friends,
Welcome to the Mom Cocktail Series, a space where we celebrate small joys, simple recipes, and the art of reclaiming a little “me time,” one glass at a time. Whether you have five minutes or fifteen, these recipes are designed to feel doable, refreshing, and just a little bit indulgent. Today, we will be making a Blackberry Bourbon Smash.

Blackberry Bourbon Smash
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon
- 5–6 fresh blackberries
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves, plus a sprig for garnish
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- ½–¾ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Crushed ice
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the blackberries, mint, and simple syrup.
- Add the bourbon, lemon juice, and a handful of ice.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
- Double strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice (or pour unstrained if you enjoy bits of blackberry).
- Garnish with a mint sprig and a few fresh blackberries.
Flavor profile
- Bright and citrusy
- Sweet-tart blackberry
- Cool, aromatic mint
- Smooth vanilla and caramel notes from the bourbon
For a richer version, try using a higher-proof bourbon or add a dash of aromatic bitters. For a lighter, sparkling variation, top with a splash of club soda.
~ Cheers!!
