Mint

Hey Friends,

Today, we are going to talk about mints and the many varieties of mints you can grow in your garden. I love mint whether it’s in coffee, shakes, essential oil, or many other great things. I want to share with you the mint collection that I have in my garden growing.

Peppermint

Facts:

Peppermint come back every year, it loves water. So as long as your peppermint gets enough water your peppermint plant will thrive.

Grow:

You can grow your peppermint plant inside or outside. They will grow like wildfire and spread everywhere in your garden.

What is peppermint good for?

  • flatulence (gas)
  • menstrual pain.
  • diarrhea.
  • nausea.
  • depression-related anxiety.
  • muscle and nerve pain.
  • symptoms of the common cold.
  • indigestion

Lemon Balm

Grow:

Lemon balm grow every year just like other mint. I like to water mine every day or every other day depends on the area it’s in.

What is Lemon Balm good for?

Choose a planting site in sun or light shade, with soil that is moist but drains freely.

Chocolate Mint

Facts:

Chocolate Mint has a strong minty taste, presence of chocolate, and texture that is crunchy and succulent. This is my second year growing chocolate mint and the smell of the mint is delicious.

Grow:

When watering your chocolate mint normally you will water them 1 to 2 weeks, I typically water mines everyday but drown it, because you don’t want the soil to get dry all mint like a little moist.

What chocolate mint good for?

Cooking and calming overheated conditions and to sooth digestion.

Orange Mint

Grow:

Orange mint is easy to grow and will thrive when given moist soil and moderate to full sun exposure.

What is orange mint good for?

Iced tea, fruit desserts, fruit & grain salads, dressings, vinegar, jellies, sauces, ice cream, and creamy desserts.

Spearmint

Fact:

Spearmint comes back every year bigger and minty in my garden. You can use spearmint in a lot of different things. Mostly spearmint is used for medicine. It can also help with digestive, nausea and many other factors.

Grow:

Spearmint grows every year just like other mint. Keep spearmint soil moist and in full sun.

What is spearmint good for?

  • Food
  • Drink
  • Tea
  • Essential Oil

Sweet Mint

Grow:

Sweet mint is easy to grow and will thrive when given moist soil and moderate to full sun exposure. They grow like wildflowers.

What is Sweet mint good for?

Sweet mint is good tea, ice cream, and so many other great delicious recipes.

Over the years I have been growing mint because you can do a lot of different things with mint like in recipes, making your house smell good or in remedies. I wanted to show you my mint collection and let you know this is one of the easiest plants/herbs to grow in your garden.
