Because sometimes Mom Needs a Little Me Time, Too!
Let’s be honest: motherhood is beautiful, rewarding, and sometimes completely exhausting!
Between getting everyone ready in the morning, working, keeping up with household responsibilities, making dinner, checking homework, and handling all the little things that come with being a mom, finding time for yourself can feel impossible.
But once the kids are settled, the house gets quiet, and the responsibilities of the day finally slow down, I love having a little time to myself.
Welcome to Wine After Bedtime, where we’re talking about simple ways to relax, recharge, and enjoy a little grown-up time after a busy day.
Tonight, I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to unwind. So grab your favorite drink, put on something comfortable, and let’s talk about making time for YOU!
1. Light a Candle and Set the Mood
One of my favorite ways to transition from busy mom mode to relaxation mode is lighting a candle.
There’s something about a soft glow and a beautiful scent that makes the entire atmosphere feel different.
I love warm scents like vanilla, lavender, sandalwood, and cashmere.
My tip: Keep a favorite candle in your bedroom or living room and make lighting it part of your nighttime routine.
2. Pour Yourself Something Special
Sometimes, I enjoy a glass of wine as part of my evening wind-down routine. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to enjoy something you love.
One of my favorite ways to make an ordinary evening feel special is exploring ONEHOPE Wine.
I love that ONEHOPE combines wine with a charitable giving mission, making it a brand with a purpose beyond the bottle.
Whether you’re planning a quiet night at home or a girls’ night in, explore their wine selections and find something that fits your evening.

Enjoy responsibly. Wine is optional, and a favorite mocktail, tea, or sparkling water can make your evening just as special.
3. Take a Long, Relaxing Shower or Bath
After a long day, sometimes all I need is a little uninterrupted bathroom time!
Put away the phone, turn on some relaxing music, and enjoy a warm shower or bath.
Add your favorite body wash, a face mask, or a moisturizing lotion.
You don’t need an expensive spa day to create a little spa experience at home.

4. Get Comfortable in Your Favorite Pajamas
There is nothing like changing out of the clothes you’ve worn all day and putting on your favorite comfortable pajamas.
I love soft pajamas, cozy socks, and a comfortable blanket.
Make your nighttime routine something you look forward to instead of just another thing on your to-do list.
5. Read a Good Book
You know I love a good book!
Sometimes the best way to escape the responsibilities of the day is to get lost in a great mystery, thriller, or romance novel.
Instead of scrolling through social media all night, try spending 20–30 minutes reading something you genuinely enjoy.
And if you’re looking for your next great read, join me over at my book club!

6. Put Your Phone Down
This one can be difficult!
Between emails, social media, messages, and everything else happening online, it’s easy to spend the entire evening looking at a screen.
Try giving yourself 30 minutes without notifications.
You don’t have to answer every message immediately. You don’t have to keep scrolling. And you certainly don’t have to be available to everyone all the time.
Give yourself permission to disconnect.
7. Create a Little Nighttime Skincare Routine
Even if the day has been hectic, taking a few minutes for skincare makes me feel like I’m doing something for myself.
Cleanse your face, apply your favorite moisturizer, and enjoy a little self-care.
You don’t need an elaborate 10-step routine. Just find products you enjoy using consistently.

8. Watch Your Favorite Show
Sometimes I don’t want to do anything productive, and that’s perfectly okay!
Give yourself permission to sit down, grab a snack, and watch something entertaining.
Whether it’s a reality show, comedy, drama, or movie you’ve watched a hundred times, enjoy the moment.
Not every evening needs to be about accomplishing something.
9. Enjoy a Little Something Sweet
A little dessert after the kids go to bed? Absolutely!
Whether it’s chocolate, cookies, ice cream, or your favorite sweet treat, sometimes a little indulgence makes the evening feel special.
Make yourself a small snack plate and enjoy it without feeling guilty.
10. Reflect, Reset, and Prepare for Tomorrow
Before calling it a night, I like the idea of taking a few minutes to reflect on the day.
What went well? What am I grateful for? What can wait until tomorrow?
Write down a few thoughts in a journal or make a short list of things you want to accomplish.
Remember, tomorrow is another opportunity. You don’t have to finish everything tonight.

My Perfect Wine After Bedtime Night
If I could put together my ideal evening, it would look something like this:
- Get everyone settled for the night.
- Put on my favorite pajamas.
- Light a beautiful scented candle.
- Prepare a favorite drink, whether wine, tea, or a mocktail.
- Enjoy a little skincare and self-care.
- Pick up a good book or turn on my favorite show.
- Relax without worrying about tomorrow’s to-do list.
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
A Little Reminder for Every Mom
Mama, you spend so much time showing up for everyone else. Don’t forget to show up for yourself, too.
You deserve rest. You deserve laughter. You deserve hobbies, quiet moments, and time to enjoy the little things that make you happy.
You don’t have to wait until you’re completely exhausted to take a break.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is simply slow down.
So here’s to peaceful evenings, good books, cozy pajamas, and finding little ways to enjoy life after bedtime.
Until next time, welcome to Wine After Bedtime!
