Hey Friends,

Today, I am beginning my book reviews for the books I read in July. I’ve resumed my reading journey and have finished three books, each with its own unique qualities that appealed to me, frustrated me, and left me with overall impressions. In this post, I will share my thoughts on each book along with links to purchase them.

Daisy Haites “The Great Undoing” left me feeling disoriented. I was disappointed to discover after finishing the book that it was the fourth installment in a series, as I prefer to read books in order.

Let’s review.

In this book, “Daisy” unfolds a compelling narrative as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery and reinvention. Yearning for a fresh start, she bids farewell to her familiar hometown, harboring dreams of pursuing a career in medicine. With unwavering determination, she immerses herself in rigorous studies, diligently attending classes to earn her coveted medical degree. Concurrently, Daisy grapples with the conflicting emotions of leaving her past behind – the family she loves, and the passionate yet tumultuous relationship she once cherished. As she strives to distance herself from the echoes of her previous life, a serendipitous encounter leads her to a charming individual: an enigmatic investigator affiliated with the NCA. This new acquaintance ignites a spark of hope within Daisy, introducing her to a world of possibilities and renewal. Entranced by his charismatic allure, Daisy finds solace in his company, reveling in the semblance of normalcy he brings, enabling her to momentarily escape the shadows of her past experiences.

The book features the perspectives of Daisy, Julian, and Christian. Julian becomes involved in the family business of stealing valuable items after their parents’ death, while Christian, one of Julian’s close associates, regrets not leaving the criminal lifestyle with Daisy when he had the opportunity. The story also involves Julian’s romantic interest in Magnolia Parks, whom Daisy initially dislikes but eventually befriends.

Each character in this book had its moments where I wanted Daisy and Christen together, but then things would come in between them because Daisy is still in a relationship with Tiller who she met when she left 9 months ago to start over. Christian is in entanglement with a lady name Vanna Ripley who has been with Christian on and off again since Daisy left town.

Towards the end of the book, I had a lot of questions which I just find out its five books total in this series, so I can’t wait to read all of them in order. When I read those other books, I will come back to this review and update you guys on it.
