1 1/2 cup of black eye peas
1 cup of lentils
1 thick cut of boneless ham steak cut in cubes
1 onion (chopped)
1 cup of celery
1 tsp salt (optional)
1 tsp of black pepper
4 slices of fatback
1. Add the fatback into a big pot of water and cook it until it comes to a boil.
2. When the water comes to a boil add the black eye peas and lentils in to the pot with the onions and celery. Cook for 45 minutes to an hours until the black eye peas and lentils is fully cook.
3. After the it peas has fully cook add the boneless ham that you have chopped up into the peas stir it up and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
4. Last, Serve on top of some white rice and corn bread and enjoy.
